DOG LAUGHS: The Learning Curve

Imagine this: you’ve been observing for weeks now. You’ve seen your humans do it, and most importantly, you’ve been studying the old dog. So with all of this exposure to higher education, why can’t you get it right? Don’t worry, practice makes perfect, and we have plenty of cleaning supplies.

DOG LAUGHS – TBT: Frodo The Sheltie – Out Of Focus

Shelties, shepherding is in their blood. Bred in Scotland for this very purpose, it’s no wonder they have a strong urge to do it. In fact, they’ll herd just about anything. Shelties are intelligent and agile dogs, and they are very good at following commands. They are also very protective of their flock. So when Frodo, a city sheltie, visited a farm for the first time, you would think he would know what to do. Well…

DOG LAUGHS: Dog Parents

Picture this: you’re quietly sitting at your mum’s feet, gnawing on your silent confidant, Monkey, while listening to the adults talk. Mum and dad have friends over. You’re not entirely sure what they’re saying, but let’s be honest, none of it really matters anyway, that is, until you hear your name. Sure, everything between your name is still gibberish, but whatever it is, it’s the sound of happiness.

DOG LAUGHS: Buttoned-up

Picture this: You are in a strange land with new sights, sounds and smells, how will you find answers and who can you trust?

  • Panel 1: Gord and Raquel are looking at their puppy in his dog pen. Raquel is holding a chew toy in her hand, which is a soft squishy monkey. She says to the Sheltie pup, George: "George, look what we've got for you. It's a monkey!"
  • Panel 2: George is looking at the monkey, assessing the situation and believes it's his opportunity to get answers, so asks the monkey, "Listen here, buddy, tell me everything you know about Hot Wheels and that crazy lady over there. What am I dealing with?"
  • Panel 3: George is waiting patiently for answers he's been longing to know ever since his arrival, but the monkey isn't talking.
  • Panel 4: Losing patience with his new friend, George comes to a logical conclusion as to why the monkey won't spill the beans. George the Sheltie pup interrogates further by saying, "What's up, pal? Did they buy your silence with bananas?"

DOG LAUGHS – Forever Angelic Reunion Meadows (ft. Frodo The Sheltie)

Picture this: It’s a lovely day, and you feel the grass between your toes. Suddenly, True Love calls out to you. How do you respond? The only way you can: you run full throttle towards it. And that’s exactly what our sheltie, Frodo, did on July 16th, 2022.

  • This is "Dog Laughs," a comic strip by Gordon Bagshaw. Today’s comic strip features Frodo The Sheltie Title: “Forever Angelic Reunion Meadows” Number of panels: 5 plus and extra special image. Picture this: It's a lovely day, and you feel the grass between your toes. Suddenly, True Love calls out to you. How do you respond? The only way you can: you run full throttle towards it. And that's exactly what our sheltie, Frodo, did on July 16th, 2022.
  • Panel 1 of 5: Frodo the Sheltie is basking in the warm sunlight as the gentle breeze rustles through the grass. Suddenly, a rainbow arcs across the sky and lowers itself in front of him. From the rainbow, the Great Shepherd calls out in a soft voice, "Frodo, come here, my boy." Frodo looks up, recognizing the voice of his beloved master. "Shep!" he exclaims, wagging his tail in excitement.
  • Panel 2 of 5: Frodo the Sheltie leaps up with excitement and runs towards Shep, his paws now landing on a vibrant rainbow bridge that fills him with joy. The colors of the rainbow intensify with every step he takes, filling the surroundings with a warm and inviting glow. Frodo can't help but let out a joyful, "Woohoo!" as he runs towards Shep, eager to reach his beloved master.
  • Panel 3 of 5: Frodo sits down in front of Shep on the rainbow bridge. Shep affectionately pets the sheltie's mane and asks, "My boy, do you believe in FARM?” Frodo relaxes in the warm embrace and replies, "You betcha." The rainbow colors continue to swirl around them, creating a peaceful and magical atmosphere. Shep looks deeply into Frodo's eyes, as if imparting some ancient wisdom to his furry companion.
  • Panel 4 of 5: Shep and Frodo start their journey along the rainbow bridge as Shep imparts some profound wisdom to his little companion. "Wendy and countless friends you've made over the years are waiting for you," says Shep, his voice filled with love and understanding. Frodo looks up at Shep with a mixture of curiosity and awe, taking in every word of his master's guidance. The vibrant hues of the rainbow continue to surround them, as if guiding them towards their destination.
  • Panel 5 of 5: As Shep and Frodo walk along the rainbow bridge, the colors become more vibrant, lifting them higher and higher into the heavens. Shep continues to speak about FARM and all its majesty, "There are cats, horses, and yes, even vacuums..." Frodo interrupts him in surprise, "Vacuums?" Shep laughs and smiles, "Oh man, I wish I had a camera. The look on your face is priceless." Frodo starts to chuckle as well, realizing Shep is just teasing him. "Yeah, yeah, you're quite the comedian, Shep. Don't quit your day job, buddy," says Frodo, playfully nudging Shep with his nose. The two continue to walk along the rainbow bridge, basking in the beauty of their surroundings and the joy of their companionship.
